Monster Force Rules and Event Format

monster force

Event Format

– Monster Force events will feature side-by-side elimination racing with an optional drag race competition. The goal of Monster Force is to replicate Monster Jam style racing.

– Events will be held indoors (large carpeted gym) or outdoors (nice paved blacktop), and will feature scaled down track layouts similar to what we see the big boys doing. Events will feature elimination style racing and drag racing. Elimination style racing will be in the slowest versus fastest bracket format. Elimination racing will be setup by drawing numbers.  All vehicles will be electric powered.

– Events will be open to all competitors with a Straight Axle equipped R/C vehicle.

– Doors open at 8:00AM for pit table setup and course testing.  Racing will begin with a drivers meeting at 10:00AM.  Our desire is to run at least 2 rounds of racing for ProMod, SportMod and Retro classes.  There is a maximum entry of 4 ProMod and 3 SportMod and 3 Retro trucks.  Between the two rounds we will hold an exhibition “Street Outlaws” drag race.  The day will conclude somewhere around 6:00

– We will race on two identical tracks.  The Street Outlaws drag race is held outside, weather permitting.

– There will be meal/snack options available for purchase from our on-site concession stand (hearty lunch and dinner options). Refrigerator and microwave on-site. If you pre-register with a $15 deposit, lunch will be provided for FREE.  The site has bathroom, tables, chairs and plenty of space for pit tables.  Fastfood and other restaurants are 20-30 mins away.

– No alcohol or drugs are allowed on premise.

– Please refrain from foul language because of the family nature of the event and church facility.

– Hotel arrangements can be made in Owego NY, 20min from location.

Racing Rules and Guidelines

Racing

– If there are over 30 trucks in a single class we will divide the class into 2 smaller classes to minimize down time for our racers.  Driver’s entries will be equally divided into those two classes.  In this case, instead of having 1 ProMod class we will have ProMod A and ProMod B.  Drivers entries will be equally divided between both classes.  The driver will be able to choose which truck goes where.

– As drivers stage their trucks, racers will be asked “Drivers Ready?” We want a verbal response from the drivers. Once the response is given it is the racers responsibility to wait for the tree, or wait for the green light. After racers respond that they are ready, there is NO restarting the process. If your truck moves out of the staging area it is a red light.

– Double DQ rule. The person that committed the first foul will have a DQ for that run. This rule will also be enforced in a race where both trucks hit the timing system. The person that hits any component of the timing system first will not advance or result in a DQ for that run. In a situation where it is a close call, it is up to the lane marshal to make the call.

– Hitting start or finish sensors, timing table that houses the PC or the base of the timing tree will result in a DQ for that run.

– Cutting any portion of the track will result in a DQ for that run.

– 2 tires over the center white line will result in a DQ for that run.

– 4 tires completely off the carpet will result in a DQ for that run.

– The two front wheels must pass over the jump / obstacle. Missing a ramp will result in a 2 second penalty. With a close call it is up to that lane marshal to make the judgment.

– If the truck flips and is unable to continue that run will be a DQ, you or the track marshals are NOT allowed to turn or right the truck. If you flip and are able to continue safely the run is not a DQ.

– Timing errors- If there is a timing error on a qualifying run, the truck that has a clean run with a timing error will be run again in the same lane. If a timing error occurs during a race for example – If the winner of the race runs a clean run with the correct time his time and win will stand. If the loser of the race has a timing error and the race was too close to call by the timing system operator or corner marshal the race will be ran again. If a timing error occurs on a DQ run, that truck will not be run again.

– All racing penalties will result in a time deduction from a run unless otherwise noted in that penalty description. When a truck crosses the finish line first during Elimination racing and penalties are counted against that truck making its time slower than the opponents truck that truck will lose that race.

– When you are done with your qualifying runs or race you must marshal a lane for the next truck. You can ask someone to marshal for you.

– A verbal response is required from the lane marshal after each run. “Clean, DQ, 1 ramp, etc.”

– All trucks entered must meet class technical requirements. Any truck when inspected by event officials that does not meet qualifications will result in a Disqualification for that event and no points will be awarded.

– All trucks must run a body. No truck is allowed on the track without a body.

– If you run LiPo battery packs fire safety is our primary concern. If you run a LiPo pack you must have Low Voltage Cutoff installed on your truck. Whether it being a qualified ESC or a LiPo external cutoff. You MUST charge your LiPo’s in a LiPo sack. ONLY hard case LiPo batteries will be allowed.

ALL DECISIONS ARE UP TO THE DISCRETION OF THE EVENT DIRECTOR AND ARE FINAL

Any racer found not following these guidelines will be asked to leave the event and will be DQ’d for the event date and no points awarded.

Awards for Racing

– Awards will be given to the 1/2/3 place of each competition round (up to 2 rounds for each class).  That means round 1 top three finishers in each class will be given an award plague for their accomplishments.

– Overall winning truck for the day will receive an award plague.  Trucks are issued 1 point for every round they advance in each bracket. 1⁄2 point will be offered to the TQ of the bracket.

Street Outlaws Drag Racing

– Each driver can only enter (1) truck that is registered, tech inspected and racing in one of the two classes (SportMod or ProMod).

– $10 entry fee for each driver. Winner takes all!

– Heads up drag racing, each round is selected by drawing numbers.

– Lane choice is awarded by a coin flip and the person who drove the furthest calls it in the air.

– Double DQ rule. The person that committed the foul first will have a DQ for that run.

– Red light means DQ.

– Crossing the center line means DQ.

– Failing to cross the finish line means DQ.

– Divers may bet one another on-the-line, but it is the responsibility of the racers to pay up/collect.

– Arguments and fighting will not be tolerated.

Any racer not following these guidelines will be asked to leave the event and will be DQ’d for the event date and no points awarded.
